For my own later reference, and for your curiosity and voyeuristic amusement, I will be blogging my birthday evening—Friday, June 10th—in real time on this page. Follow along, check http://maps.google.com/ for actual position, and join David Yee’s intrepid birthday crew on our intoxicating travels.

First Warm Night had a wait longer than Space Mountain’s, so we strolled over to the Frying Pan for Turntables On The Hudson, which got shut down half an hour after we showed up. Whatever; I heard the ice cream wasn’t that good. Anyhow, a good birthday. Thanks to all who showed up!
Old town, eighteenth between broadway and park
Heartland brewery, Union Square
Thanks to my partner in crime, L, for the Black Forest Cake, I have broken my proverbial birthday cherry. In close pursuit, the kind office folk at Breakbeat Science have made an offering of two cupcakes and a ghetto margarita. It has begun.
First assembly tonight is at Shake Shack, 23rd Street and Madison Avenue. Expect to find me there between nine and ten PM, weather permitting. Updates as necessary. Courage.
I am told there are fireworks at Coney Island at midnight. Keep that in mind.
What appeared to be menacing thunderheads seem now to be meek summer clouds—the perfect companion to a liveblogged birthday. As of last night, I wasn’t able to get this thing to accept pictures from my phone, but I’m hoping to have some crappy photo evidence as we go here. Like a toddler at Christmas, I was awake at 8 AM today, eager for the task at hand. Now, the necessary eight hours of work.
I am taking applications for activity stops. Feel free to email me (tangentialism at gmail dawt com) with suggestions that you feel are exciting and/or convenient. Already possible: the rotating bar on the top of the Marriott, and Coney Island. Help me fill in the blanks.
Shake shack is closed, but Mitch is hooking it up. More on this tomorrow. We are here.
